I haven't been around in a while but have previously posted about my father's Jonsered 70E. The initial problem many years ago was a bad SEM (ignition) unit. I was able to find a used replacement. That ran for a while but the same part went bad again. I was able to find another replacement. Now we are many moons later and it has happened again. I suspect it is the same deal. I've grown tired of searching out an impossible to find, used part. Plus I'm a husband and a new dad now so I don't have the time to dedicate to such repairs/hobbies right now.
In my previous research, I found some mention of converting a 70e to a different/modern type of ignition. Apparently there was a kit at one time. Does anyone have any knowledge of this kit? I'm not finding much. I'm more interested now in converting (if possible) or if it is going to require another SEM, it may be time to sell it for parts.
