Ford diesel engine high miles

Hey Murph, I think that year is a powerstroke motor. I think it was 91 when Ford went to the newer diesel morors, not positive though. If it is a powerstroke motor it should run for a long, long time. My bro has a 95 with over 300,000 on it. Fords are kinda known for oil pans rusting out so that may be an issue. Just stay away from the older ford diesels, I think pre 91.
 
did you buy the truck daniel??just after i told you what the heck buy it,a truck i had just brought made noises and needed a rubuild it cost me 4k it was in the same sort of condition as the ford mentioned
 
Other components?

I'm considering a powerstroke w/160K miles. Other than the miles on the engine, when do you start worrying about other stuff such as differential wear, wheel bearings, etc. Some of it seems like small stuff but it adds up and costs time if you're constantly replacing small parts....Anyone got a good rule of thumb?
