OK, gents - I saw yet another annoying Craigslist ad for free firewood (provided you drop, cut, haul, clean up and have insurance), and decided it's time to fight back, and I recommend you all do the same. Ignorance isn't going to go away just by ignoring it (or laughing at it). I sent them the following Email:
Hi,
Saw your ad in Craigslist, and I'd be happy take the firewood. Would it be OK if I got it this weekend? Price is $250 per tree if the trees aren't too big, and no, I don't have insurance. (If you want to hire someone with insurance, the price would likely be around $600 per tree for the smaller ones).

I rather doubt I'll get a response, but if I do, I can at least let them know that tree removal is a profession, not a privilege, and they must pay someone to do that work for them.
