AUSSIE if say you run tractors or big backhoes do you have to pay PETROL FORECOURT/ GARAGE prices ?? cant you get cheap fuel for plant and machinery??

nope you have to be a primary producer(farmer)or a haulage company to get a rebate on diesel, its becoming an issue with both fuels around the $1-$1.10 per litre. L.P.G is what most v8 or sedans run on it has risen from .15 per litre to around .45 and you use 1/3 more than you would petrol,i might convert the chipper soon to run L.P.G easy to install.and youll never cook the engine runing on it as the gas mixer freezes when the water gets low.

If memory serves diesel is about the same cost as petrol in the US as well as Aussie.
Here in New Zealand petrol is 1.27 and diesel is .77, but we have to pay road milage on the diesels but its still works out cheaper. Of course none to pay on a diesel chipper!

A mate told be that you can register a unimog with a chipper mounted as a tractor in the UK and run the red stuff.

well i think that is' a grey area' no real cut and dry law on that ..law says if you use a tractor [which an agricultural spec mog is] for road use you should use road deisel..but if you go off road ie forestry work ..then you can use red..also you can run the biggest mog /tractor with out any commercial/truck driving liscence
