Roll of duct tape and a pair of don't know what brand insulated cloth with leather fingers. No bull, I'm on the second season with these and I use em hard. Just add or renew the tape every once in a while.I have enough of it on most of the fingers that they are 100% water proof. No fashion statements.Just plain works.

I have insulated firm grip gloves, and like them a lot. I'm not sure the exact model, but they were about $20.

Stacked a cord with them, and no wear at all.

I wear these http://www.fortressproducts.com/ProductDetail.asp?BrandID=2&CategoryID=1&ProductID=74

Perfect gloves; durable and not bulky making it easy to handle woods, tools, and start the saw.

I get the best value from a cheap, split cowhide, rough out glove .Don't just grab a pair, inspect the fingers closely. Some will be thicker than others.
