Should I stay with the 3/8 .050 chain is there a reason to go with a bigger size will be cutting a bunch of downed trees dift logs covered in sand and dirt in the bark. Also was looking at maybe buying a carbide chainsaw chain.

I got a ms461 lightly moded and a rancher 455 highly moded

Looking at buy a few bars and chains before I saw cutting all the pile up logs

.050 will be fine. Hard nose bars and lots of semi chisel chain
What he said. Last week I cut up a big oak that we drug out of the woods, very dirty. Didn’t cut very long with full chisel, switched to semi chisel and like the Energizer bunny just kept going and going....

Cool to have @full chizel be the first to recommend semi chisel chain. A good option for dirty wood that usually gets left out of the conversation. We all get a little to into the speed and power thing. But semi often keeps going well after full chisel needs to be filed.

Yea just picked up a ms661cm 3/4 wrap handle and some more semi chain chains going to place a order at Bailey to get some more bars and chains to fit my 3 saws
