Grinding down depth rakers. Bad idea?

Not sure what you are running for a saw but I take an old clutch side cover and cut away some of the rear portion, this makes an excellent noodling cover but I would not recommend it for everyday use cross cutting.
Excellent idea pioneerguy600 ... thanks! I have two saws right now. An Echo CS400 for felling & bucking and a Poulan P3818AV for "abusive" cutting like rough brush clearing and cutting stumps to ground level. I'd be more than willing to cut the clutch cover on the Poulan to give it a try at noodling and just get a spare cover for the bush work.
