Growth rate of Green Giants starting from 24" tall?

I just purchased 4 Green Giants at about 24" tall currently. Out of curiosity, how much growth should I expect each year from the current height? I live in VA.
Also, being the middle of July, how would you go about planting these to ensure a stable life? Any help is greatly appreciated!
