Hi all, thanks for accepting me!
Scottish chap retired with Mrs and now living in Brittany. Ex British Army, Royal Engineers.
We have been here 3 years and our main sources of heat are woodburners.
At 65 years young I have now been blessed with access to a large wood (large by local standards anyway!) and a friendly french forestiere (74 yrs old and puts me to shame).
I am gradually learning my way around the forest and am now able to provide our firewood for the foreseeable future.
I am interested in maintaining my own tools and equipment, and learning tips and tricks as we go.
As a novice I managed to pinch a bar and found basic guidance on here that helped me make a repair and get back to work.
I appreciate that my world is probably ‘small change’ compared to some of the stuff you good people get up to but I’m out in fresh air, working with wood, providing for my family and enjoying it!
