I’d take a guess and say I’d would you need gl1 type of gear oil to avoid damaging any metals in the saw more modern spec has sulfur that eats away at brass and other soft metals. Find a tube or 2 of skilsaw gear oil for their worm drive saws PN 80111.

It’s hard to find GL1 spec most of the old cars I’m into need it because of the bushings in the trans mainly willys Jeep’s. But my worm drive saws require it too the skill stuff is thicker then standard gear oil.

I have a lot of old farm tractors outboards lawn garden tractors snow mobiles and many other pieces of equipment that requires Gl1 I put in the modern 89-90 gear oil and after many years of test inspections I see no brass or other metal parts being affected.
