WOW! who would have ever thought!! when I was out of HS and continuing my schooling back in 1966 I worked part-time for a large local retail drug store chain... stock boy, part-time janitor, weekly ad banner hanger, overhead lights washer guy... that sort of thing. and even cashier, too. I remember selling a pack of cigs back then... sold so many... 29-cents a pack! average cost. I think Camels and Winstons were just a bit higher maybe was 39-cents... or thereabouts. I remember a pack of gummed roll ur own papers was 2-cents. no, not from use... from selling!!! lol ;)

Here's one more way I've taken my gear to the woods, especially if I need to do some road repair to get there,

Although, my roads are good enough now that I no longer have to work on them.....

I have used it to plow snow on heavy snow years,

and yes, it does make for one he!! of a snow plow! lol

 sorry, the especially if remark just seem to tickle me somewhat... an understatement! many here tow timber through the forests and glens... use old game trails, too no doubt... I just tow down a city road... barely a need for me in country to be off grid much at all... then there are some who make their own roads to the woodlot. "hey fellas, here is how I also can get my saws to the wood... I can make my own roads!"

I don't need to say any more! impressive, to say the least... great pix, great equipment (toys, ok ok... tools) and all that aside..., great scenery, too. to think if I hadn't been reading some 'how to stuff' links online... that lead to the AS... I might have missed this stuff!!! dozers, graders, haulers, over-raod trailer conversions... just to name some of it... all in the name of making firewood!!!! gotta  it!

thanks SR, great post!

I remember those things, the college used them quite a bit along side those old Cushmans. Is it 2 wheel drive? What kind of motor is in it? Very cool!

4 wheel drive, foot pedal activated AMT600 (circa mid 80's) has a 286cc Kawasaki engine. He had it in his barn for 20 years he says. Some TLC and its a working again. No electric dump option on it but it still is fun to take out for a wood run.

So seeing the stuff packed in that gator got me to wondering, smell the smoke? Once you get the wood packed in that box where do you put all that stuff? or do you make several trips to get the equipment out and then get the wood out?

:D Al

this is what I use to get there on road travel and going through the woods. We cut it all up then haul when it is either froze or dry.

Keeps them from sliding around and on the hilly ground that is a big plus.

Doesn't take too much room to store as it folds up and in and out in seconds.

Thanks for sharing that Kevin. Going to use this idea myself. If anyone asks I will say it was all my idea but in the back of my mind I will give you credit. ;)

Hope ya dont mind if i borrow that idea too. [emoji6]

That's why I post stuff, to make it easier/nicer if someone wants to take the time to do it. Never did like my saws sliding all over the place and this is the best thing I have ever used.

Usually don't take that many saws at once so the fuel and maintenance bucket goes next to the tailgate and doesn't slide either.

I alway put saws in a case and if they are too big they go on a old blanket. Your idea is much better. Thanks
