How many drivelinks?

I have a brand new 50" gb bar for my stihl 090!but no chain! anybody know how many 404 drivelinks on a chain i will need? bar part nr is: hs 50 63. and it´s a hi tech pro titanium(grey/white) the 090 sprocket is 7/404!

According to my GB book the 50" bar for a 090 calls for 140 drivers of .404" .063" chain

Got a Stihl hardnose bar for my 084 that takes 138 links of .404........
Measures about 49" though.......... My guess is that his book is right!

Thank you guy´s!! I will try the 140 driver chain and see if it works! i´m thinking about to try stihl´s 404 milling chain! i already use stihl´s millingchain 3/8-0.50 and 3/8-0.63 it work´s fine!

Scott! does your gb book say anything about the same bar but with a stihl 880 with a 7-404 or 8-3/8 sprocket? my dealer gave me a price on a 880 that i probably can´t resist about 1200 usd! they normaly cost 1650 usd! if i buy it,maybe i will use 8-3/8 on it!

It says the same bar for 088, does not mention sprocket size, 3/8" 157 drivers and .404" 140 drivers

I recently picked up 44", 50" and 72" GB NOS titanium speednose? (internal rollernose) bars in big stihl mount with the bushings for large Husky mount. Do you have the DL count for these in 3/8?
