I used to work with Art at the Campbell Fire Department. I talked with him on the phone the third week of October, 2011. He has had some setbacks but he is one tough guy and is happy to hear from old friends from around the timber industry.

Art the Firefighter

Art has alot of friends @ AS. His status here can be considered legendary.

Art was a legend in the firehouse as well as the forest.
He had arms that looked like most mens thighs and a tiny waist. He was a good man to work for and had great leadership skills. His great sense of humor got us through some rough times. He was a captain when he retired back to Fort Bragg, CA 38 years ago.

I talked to Art at the West Point show in Oct. He has had some setbacks but is doing well now. Had a good chat about old saws and some old competitors we both new that have past on.
