I just picked up a 261 that is missing some parts, clutch cover and top cover and entire chain brake assembly. Saw runs great, previous owner took parts off to put on the better looking saw. Thanks everyone for all of the help on this forum. If anyone has these parts for sale I would gladly purchase these from you.

Do a little research and you can turn that little saw into a 262XP and have a real bargain! Spike just did a nice thread about this process

The 261 shares parts with the 254XP,257, and 262XP and they should all fit, though the 257 (and 254?) has a different air filter and cover.

If you are searching eBay 257's will be the cheapest if you can find a dead one as a parts donor

Yup......I thought I did

No decals or stickers though
