I just picked up a used 262XP with a 24" bar for $150. Definitely well used, and feels low on compression. Fires right up though and seems to have good power. Anyway, my serial is:

4090829

What year is this saw? Also, anyone have links to service manuals (and any other manuals) for this year of 262xp? I read on here 262's don't have a decomp release, but this one sure does. Thanks in advance!

Damn you! You beat me to it! I know what saw you are talkin about, it was on Reading CL in Schuykill Co. I wanted it bad, and I thought I was on top of it when I saw it posted. Guess you were the lucky one. Good luck with the saw!

Thanks SawTroll, I was hoping you would post!
dumpsterdiver, you are correct, it came from New Ringgold. Wouldn't start when I got there for awhile, and feels low on compression. Should probably get a reading, but I will probably just use it for awhile. It has been used, that is evident but I still think it was a steal for $150.
