I picked up a used 372 XPW. The old decompression valve wasent working so bought a new one and stuck in it. It doesn't work either. Anbody have any suggestions what might be wrong? You can push it in but it's not popping back out after the saw fires up and I'm not noticing a drop in the compression when it is pushed in.

Thanks,

Wes

The little hole in the cylinder behind the compression valve that goes into the combustion chamber is plugged with carbon.

Take out the compression valve and unplug the hole

Thanks for the info. I'll give that a try tonight.
