I use the Husky/Jred roller sharpening guide and really like. I happened on an article online about them and it said not recommended for skip chain. I’ve used mine on 75jgx with great results. Any idea why they said this? Thanks.

No idea.
I can see why using the non-progressive style wouldn't work so well since you wouldn't have another cutter at close for the rakers, but the progressive style isn't dependent on another tooth for rakers or cutters.
 
That’s strange. I’ve used it several times on skip. Eventually I bought the husky raker gauge on its own.
