Husky saw numbering???

OK I started looking for a new saw, but I am a bit confused over the Husky saw Numbering I know what the last 2 digits in a 3 digit model number mean the CC of the motor but what is up with the first digit.

What is a 200 series mean example 266,272, 288
Then there is the 300 series example 371/372 (this seems to be the current series)
There is a 400 series but I only know of the 455 rancher
Then there is a 500 series 575

Basically whats the diffrence between a 272 and 372 and a 575

Don't quote me but I think the cylinder/piston combo is a little different; My dealer told me there were some improvements from the 394XP to the 395XP, for example. Not exactly a series change, but along the same lines.....

Series 2## were built,lets in the '80.Later ,they built completly redesigned saw beginning by 3##,and so on.The last two digits are usually engine size.If you take a serie like 2##.they built 266,and 268,272 on the same crankcase changing only cylinder size.The same applies for 346 that got the same bottom end 351,353 even jonny 2149 and 2152 are the same saw but with diff color.Now if you take 272,372 and 575,those saws are about the same size in cc but are completely different generation and design in everything like crank,ignition,carb,shocks,etc.

So where does the 500 series come in, most pro-saws seem to be 300 series now, so are the 500 series even newer

So that is sort of what I figured 0XX, then 1XX, then the 2XX and now is 3XX, but what about 4XX (only know the 455) and there seem to be a few 5XX saws

I guess they will bring more 4## and 5## models soon.Like 346 could be replaced by redesigned model like 446 or 546.
