Husquvarna 281 alternative parts

I have a husquvarna 281 I was wondering if there was any other husquvarna model parts that would fit or work?
The crankcase on the chain side is tore up from chain rub.
I could epoxy the scratches but I really don't like doing that if I can find an old parts saw...however the 281xp don't seam to be a popular saw or parts are scarce I am unsure my parts sources are ebay and chainsawr

Yep, the mikes got it covered. Lots of spare cases on ebay, though most times they are pretty well used.

so 288 only or 281-288? how does the case get so tore up? I have seen logger saws beat to death a few times chain to loose? but on my own I don't see how it happens I have had broken chains and fall off bar or derail but not so violently to cause that much damage?

Crank from a 394 works.
Bet Brian has crankcase halves.
