husqvarna 142 chainbrake??

I have a problem that is all my fault. puting a new cover on and was taking the chainbrake stuff out of the old one and now having a great time getting it back in. I have got the spring and linkage in but do not know how to get the spring compressd to get the handle back on. any help please clint
