I have a 394 project up for trade. I bought it here in tradin post awhile back and haven't had time for it. I also have a 2100 going to mastermind in January and I really don't need 2 big saws as much as I would like it. Basically just wanting to pull 24" maybe very rarely a 28" anything bigger will go to the 2100. Rebuilding a 394 for that seems like over kill.
This saw has 2 cylinders from what I can tell one is a 394 and one is a 395. Both are in good useable shape and haven't been seized. One of them has one broken cooling fin. The saw is a full wrap has 2 low top covers with AF covers they are in ok shape a little faded. The bottom end and crank feel good bearings are smooth no noticeable play anywhere. Piston is also ok no scoring or scuffing ring is free although I'd replace just for peace of mind. The tank was broken but I have a different good one that will go with and a good set of AV springs. Saw also has some chain rash and chips here and there its not a beauty queen but should make someone a good runner/work saw.
Things it will need to run:
Clutch cover
Coil
Muffler or the one that is with it welded up.
Carb kit and elbow up to the air filter.
Probably a few nuts and bolts here and there.
Saws I'd trade for (if they are nicer I can add cash) can take builders too.
Husky 262 272 372 288 or similar
Makita/Dolmar 6400 or 7900 I'd really prefer they be blue my wife really likes the blue ones and she will be running it fairly often
