Hi all, I am looking for any information about what other model cylinder (if any) would fit a husky 42. I am finding it extremely difficult to find a piston for a 42 I have aquired. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

No poulan interchange on a 42. The 238/42/42sp/242 and 246 are all the same family.
You will find pistons on eBay, but wether they are actually the proper design for your cylinder is another story.
I do believe that 246 stuff might be a bit easier to find, but if your saw is early you will need to open up the cases to make room for the larger diameter piston.

There's an ebay seller 'archerplus' with Tecomec 242 P&c's for $58, says will ship to 'usa and many other countries'.
I've bought a couple and they're very nice quality, would be a good upgrade for a 42.

I've heard the Tecomec cylinders are good quality...that would turn it into a nice little screamer!
