Hi experts I have a 52mm factory piston that is taller than a piston for a ms460. I got it in trade and have no clue what model it is for. On the top is engraved C1603 348. Inside is 1128. KS 16. 52122. 46C 281. any help is appreciated. It is the piston on the right side. Left side is a ms460 piston. Thank you.

Pin diameter is .472 over all height is 1.730 and pin to top is .890 measurements taken with a brown and sharpe dial cal.

Stihl 064, MS 640

Replaces Part Number 1122 030 2001
Bore 51.96mm
Height 43mm
Head Type Flat
Piston Pin 12mm x 33mm x 8mm
Rings 52mm x 1.5mm (Caber F-Cast GH.F)
Compression/Pin Top to top of Piston 17mm
Compression/Pin Center to top of Piston 23mm

Germans work on the metric system

Your .890 throws my theory- unless your measurement is from pin centre to top- then it is pretty close to 064 spec.

Thanks for the info. Yes metric system. I did go from the pin top center to top of piston

Does it have a taller cylinder? I mistakenly tried it in the 460 before I knew what it was and the thing bottomed out.

Honestly- I dont know- 460 crank is the same I think- but 461 is 4 port transfers? Cylinder and cases are totally different.
I will happily admit 461 and 462 are saws I have had very little to do with and could not tell you if the top of pin to top of piston is near 2mm taller for the 461- but that would help explain the 1128 part number.
