Husqvarna Classic 181se Expert Help Required

I have a Husqvarna 181se that is running the older style clutch the same as the 266se. It was missing its spring when I got it so I scavenged one from one of my 266's and it fits but seems like it does not have enough tension for the 181. Did they actually run the same spring of is the 181 a different spring?
Does the later 281/288 clutch fit on a 181 or is the crank thread different as is the case with the change from 266 to 268/72?
Any help from the knowledgeable greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure of the interchangabilty of those clutches.
Those partner chop saws run that type spring on the earlier ones. If they lose a little tension, I just snip a couple spring coils off, then heat the cut end up red hot to twist it 90° to form a new hook end.

281, 288, 394, 395 should fit. I think the very early models of 181 had different size bearings thus using a different crankshaft. But I think the clutch end is the same.
