I guess I was thinking carb work only....you have to disassemble the whole saw to get to the carb, if i remember correctly...

they are nice light tree saws...

You are correct about the carb. The other problem with some of them is the starter assembly, not very strong, in my opinion. The later versions aren't so bad. I think the ones with electronic ignition have the better starters. I'm about to tear into one in a week or two that has a bad carb, so will just take the whole thing apart and clean it all up while I'm at it.

it's been very popular.I keep getting compliments.even here In CT.

I actually have more 'non-liberal' friends in CT that are sick of pain in the ass people, politics, and dumb society...

I have atleast 2 of the newer elec ign saws...eagers... 2.0 or 2.1's I believe. Not a bad thing to have to clean the whole saw once in a while... I think the last time I took mine apart, I had some issues with the oil tank, oiler hose, or something like that... I forget exactly. Are these things actually worth anything? I see them at the flea markets for 10-15 bux.

In my experience, they're not worth a great deal. I've looked on ebay for them and they don't seem to bring much. As usual with auctions, it depends on who's looking. I sold one on ebay a couple of weeks ago and it only bought about $15 plus shipping which isn't good. A junky non-running Stihl with missing parts brings about three times more than a running Mini-Mac.

Excess 090s? DIME A DOZEN!

There are 5 090s on eBay right now. What's going on? Several sold just recently also. Is this trend going to continue - if so the prices ought to drop considerably.

Disston two man saw at local auction

Hey all,

I spotted this at an upcoming auction in Coos Bay, Oregon, just a couple hours up the coast. Only one pic of it, about half the way down the linked page. Looks to be a Mercury branded engine on it.

Other than seeing them in old pics bucking big logs, I know nothing about them. If anyone is interested, we've been to a few of their auctions, and they take phone bids or email bids. Good people to deal with, for what it's worth.

The second link is a pic of the saw, hopefully it'll open up.
