Increasing splitter speed

I have a Swisher 34 ton splitter with a B@S 12.5 hp I/C motor and a 5" cylinder.It has a 16gpm 2 stage Haldex pump. What couild I do to shorten its cycle time? thanks

the only way to get faster cycle times is to increase flow. In basic pressure = power and flow= speed so get a 22 gpm pump which your current engine should push sufficiently and your cycle time will go down while maintaining power.
