I'm going to start buying logs dropped off for firewood. I am getting to point that I need to do this to make sure I have enough wood to sell every winter. Plu with the cost of diesel I think it's going to work out good. The guy told me I would be around $160 for 1000bf. I might get it a little cheaper by taking 8-12inch logs and by taking a rougher log that can't be made into ties. I'm not up on pricing on logs. That means I'm looking at $80-90 for a cord of wood. I'm getting $300 for a cord now. All new customers are going to coming on at $360. It doesn't sound to bad to me once you figure diesel fuel travel time and wear and tear on your truck to go cut wood.

Thanks Scott
