That is the predecessor to the MS261. Actually they offered it as a pro model also which had a decomp valve and the oiler didn't oil at idle. The parts can be added to the 260 to make it a pro version.

The first two pics are of a MS270 or MS280. I would buy that MS260 if it was a PRO version. It's $120 less than a MS261!

Not having run a 260 pro I would rather spend the extra and get the 261 but others will know better how the two compare.

My MS261 with limiters gone and cleaned out muffler flat out hauls:msp_w00t:

I would b e hard pressed to believe a 260 could keep up with it:confused:

I'm happy with my MS 260 PRO, but I long for a MS 261 C-M and will likely buy one soon. I'll still keep the '260, but it will probably wear a HS 246.

he must have got his pictures all mixed up, the other ad for the ms270 shows mostly the ms260 pics :wink2:

$120 VERY well spent! The 261 is superior to the 260 in so many ways.

Every time I read one of these threads...I want to trade all my 026s for a 261. Usually an AA meeting takes the edge off and I can survive until another 261 thread comes along.:msp_unsure:

Yep, I've owned both and the MS261 has got more cojones, for sure...

I still prefer my 346NE over them both though...
