I've noticed on a few of my saws (5 or 6 year old Stihl 440s and 361s) that the brake strap is coming into contact with the clutch drum when the brake isn't engaged. Upon further inspection it seems to me that the brackets that hold the brake strap in place around the clutch are a little worn and creating more "slack" than it should have. I've tried replacing it without success and i've tried "kinking" the strap without much success.
Naturally it's frustrating when working on a saw and being ready to feel triumphant only to be foiled by this problem.
Anyone with experiences/frustrations/tips for how I can fix this?
