This is my review on the jonnyred 2095.
I have only owned this saw for a week and I already want to marry it!!
This is the best handling 93.5cc saw that I have ever run. Having it's oil and fuel tank in the rear of the saw helps balance out alot even with a 32" bar.
The saw runs very smooth for one of that size class. Throttle responce is at par with the poly flywheel 066 stihl (impressive). I havent run a 395 husky next to it yet but I think the 2095 might have a little more torque. It's been a while sence I've run a 395 so it might be my imagnation.
I dont like the outboard clutch though nor the hard to get to chain tensioner. Stihl has a way better clutch system and tensioner on the 066.
Overall this saw is now my favorite saw, I'm even looken for another one now!!!
The 390 husky I just got even dont turn me on like this jonnyred does.
I will leave the 2095 stock for now so I can get used to how she runs in big wood. This thread IS NOT a brand war as I would find a place for both awsome 394/395 AND the trusty stihl 066/660 and hopfully the dolmar 9010!!

Great post...it looks like I'm gonna have to start saving my pennies. Post-up some pics!

little chart, to compare by..they don't make the 2095 anymore.. we have 2, one with a 32, the other with a 36... they are good saws when they run. but they are old, and tend to be in the shop way to much !!! and they are heavy.. real pain to adjust the chain...plus they are on the heavy side..i think they are going to get replaced by stihl 460's..

Im sorry, I would rather pack the 2095 than an 046 stihl.

My sawing buddy has a dual port 066 stihl that he is putting up for challange with the stock 2095. I will use his bar and chain 32" oregon that I will have to use bar adaptors on for my saw. The chain is 75 cjx that has been round filed at 30 degrees top plate. The wood is a fresh 36" doug fir. Let yall know on monday.

In my test results this weekend with my buddys 066 the results are impressive. That stock 2095 lost by .6 seconds to the ported 066, but the funny thing is when I tried my ported muffler 390 husky in the same log it beat both saws by .9 seconds, I couldn't believe it!!! Somemore cutting this week with these saws is planned for the retrial. When my buddy grabbed the 2095 he was impressed on how smooth it ran and he wanted to trade his 066 for it, NO way hoshey:chainsaw:

Max hp numbers is just a snapshot of the power curve - so it doesn't tell the whole story.

Adding the max torque helps a tad, but still far from the whole story.

well that sure something to consider,, but i can't remember the last time i has a chain saw race at work.........

let alone , having the desire to time my self !!!!! to be honest with you, i could care less about .6 or .9 seconds....

i use my saws for work, not play..

make you a deal, send me 2 new ms460 stihl saws , and i'll send you my 2 johnny red 2095 saws, even up !!!!

if thy are that good, my phone should be ringing any second now !!!

Juststumps, that is not much of a deal since new 460s cost about as much as new 2095s did. I would however send you 2 used 460s.

that doesn't make any sense,,, i have 2 johnny red 2095's used... why would i trade them for two used 460's ????

they don't make 2095's anymore... they still make 460's...

guess your not in love with them enough like the other guy !!! LOL

Our local markets are most likely different.

2095s sold for $950.00 with 24"-36" b/c setups.

Average used price for good running saws in good condition seems to be around $400-$600.00. Have yet to see any used ones sell for over $600.00, the last couple new old stocks went for $900.00. Parts are still available BUT MANY ARE NO LONGER MADE AND WHEN THEY ARE GONE THAT IS IT OR SO i WAS TOLD. I do not know if that is true.

460s sell for $850.00 with 24"-28" b/c setups.

Average used price for 460s in comparable condition is $400-600.00.

Stihl guys love their Stihls.
