What are these worth? Are they a good saw? Found a 90 that needs a ring. The 80 is completely tore down.

PM me the contact onfo on the 90, and I'll check it out for you. I'd hate to see a guy get ripped off......:greenchainsaw:

I seen a 90 for sale at a local dealer, pretty decent condition, $235 or so for it and it's sold.

I have no idea what they are worth, but I'd give a couple hunded bucks for a good one to have in the collection.

He wants $100 for the 90 or he said he might take less. Needs a ring. He said the rings got stuck and he was taking one off to clean the gunk from the groove and ring and it snapped. He left it alone after that.

The 80 he didn't know how much, but said he'd make a deal for both saws. :chainsawguy:

They are a real workhorse of a saw. My uncle did a ton of firewood cutting. He had 2 Jonsered 90's. One was his primarly saw that cut probably 1000 full cords in it's lifetime. The other was like new and I inherited it. Here is picture of that one. This saw will never be sold.

These saws are not the lightest but great power. One of their best featuresi in my mind is that they idle so well. I have yet to need parts for it. I have heard they are scarce but still available if you know who to ask. Rings should not be an issue.

Sounds like you have the lead on a great deal there. I'd take them both for sure.:):)

Well sadly I drove up there and looked at the saws. He told me the 90 was in good shape, just needed rings to run. However, it was a mess. Carb ripped off, gaskets missing, fuel cap missing, oil cap missing, handle was welded up, no filter, no bar, no chain, almost all the paint was off, etc. The 80 was all tore down and thrown in a 5gal bucket. The crank wouldn't turn over it was seized. Complete mess. He wanted 125 for both. 100 for the 90 and 25 for the 80. I told him I'd pass..... Too much broken and missing parts on the 90 to make it worth my while to rebuild back to something usefull. He said he would take 75 for both. I still passed!

Oh well... :angry2:

I got my 80 for $50 bucks, but that was a fluke. It was at an estate sale. They said a bunch of people had looked at it, but it was "too heavy". If you get a chance at a good one grab it. I love running mine.

Nice score. Ill take those "heavy" saws any day!

Thanks, it was probably a once in a lifetime score. I got a 28 in bar and chain from Bailey's, on sale, for $50. It cuts great. I was ripping through dry White Oak like it was butter! Crosscutting and noodling. I really love that saw.
