First off thank you for having me on your forum. I picked up an old Lafont 350 and noticed hydraulic oil leaking from the pump. The seals are shot and I’d like to just replace the pump. Can anyone point me in the right direction on what to replace it with? I’m still using the original 8hp Briggs. The original is a Cross. I’ll try and add some pictures.

Thanks. I dropped the pump off Monday to see if it could fixed. I’m tempted to run it off my tractor hydraulics if it can’t.

Being a cross pump a good hyd shop should be able to cross the numbers to get a replacement. I have resealed some. A lot of times the input shaft is worn were the seal rides. I have put a speedy sleeve on the shaft to repair it. You might call Surplus Center in Lincoln Nebraska then may be able to cross the pump numbers. Hope they can reseal it for you.

Tractor wouldn't be a bad idea but then you're limited to needing the tractor for splitting. Tractor goes down so do production
