does anyone know if a larch is a spieces of it's own or a highbred or what in paticular it is.

Larch is the comon name for the genus Larix. There are species in many aprts of the world and a number that have been imported for landscape use.

As with many genera the native US plants do not have many or any cvs. while you will find many Japanees and European.

The native US larch is called Tamarack
