Call Madsen's. Tell them you want a set of big dawgs with the catcher for a 460. A couple days later it will be on your door step. I think 25 bucks is about what I just paid for a new set.

a couple more canine questions...

am i right in thinking that the 460 and 440 dawgs are interchangeable?

is there a set of 'small' double dawgs (for 044 specifically)?

are stihl part numbers the same internatonally (is there one digit in the p/n that donates country of origin like saw serial no.'s)?

thanks guys

hey yall thanks for the replies but the dealer had them in stock so i didn't need the numbers but thanks anyways

The 440 and 460 dogs for the outside are different due to the longer spacing between the bar studs and the front of the crankcase.

I think Madsens dawgs are a lot larger than the ones from Stihl. Too big IMHO.

Does anyone have a picture of the Madsen big dawgs on a 44 or 460?

I would like to put some larger ones on my saws.........

Or, would anyone be willing to trace out a pair of the oem big spikes on paper and I could make some?

How does 1/4" thick T6 or other hi performance alloy sound for sum custom dawgs? Or would it not hold up?

1/16" aluminum? 3/16 then.

When you said high performance alloy I thought of high nickel alloy (Monel, Inconel) or Titanium...
