My friend has about 20 acres of forest in the mountains. He has been cutting firewood and stacking it,he just noticed alot of saw dust from the cut log`s. We peeled the bark off 1 of them and found some kind of Larva tunneling thru the wood.Question- how doe`s he get rid of the bugs? I know that he needs to spray it with something and then cover it with black plastic. What is the spray he should and how long till he can burn it.

Cutting and splitting the wood should get rid of the worms. I think taking the bark off does too. They look nice and juicy, anybody ever use them for bait?

Yup.. those big grubs only live in wet wood.

Get it split and stacked up off the ground to dry and they will die off pretty quick.

Cheers

Ian
