So you're working on cleaning up some storm tangled trees and it's tricky evaluating what and how to cut things to stay safe and not get a bar pinched when Mr. Helpful shows up in tennis shoes and a saw with the chain drooping of the bottom of the bar and wants to cut something, even on the SAME tree you are working on. Would there be anything more uncomfortable or distracting than have him working anywhere near you? Is there a diplomatic way to get rid of him or maybe just his saw? Dragging limbs would be good.

I might ask if he wants some help with his saw, and ask him to drag brush until I finish my tank of fuel and can look at his.

Beyond that, my diplomacy disappears when my safety is at risk. If he's not a risk to me he can cut wherever he likes, if he's a risk to me I'm telling him thanks but no thanks, go cut somewhere else. Otherwise I'm packing up and cutting somewhere else.

Who's property are you cutting on? That changes the equation a lot.
