My neighbor has some wooded property and wanted to build a log arch... so we are. Just starting he had an old home made trailer and some scrap steel from shipping crating for medical equipment. We bent some tubing from the trailer into the arch and the part that goes forward. Welded the axle stubs onto the arch. More to come.

Saw a cool design idea on another arch not too long ago.
So instead of a fixed log anchor point,
They used a inclined track, going up on the rear.
U back arch over butt, secure chain as short as possible, then as you tow forward the but is lifted by chain trolley point going up the track, this is nice because when decending a hill and the log tries to push you, it lowers itself and friction brakes. Also gives you some room to back up a couple feet for tight maneuvering.

Thanks, I see that just drags the log. That won't work for him, he needs to load the log on a trailer then unload it at his saw mill and then load it on the saw mill. He makes lumber so dirt in the bark is bad for bandsaw blades. Thanks for the links.
