You likely will not find much The MS170 is their 30cc entry level consumer model and there is really no point trying to make it scream other than entertainment value. If you want a light weight hot rod try the MS200.

Just looking to port the muffler, nothing extreme.....

I've tried searching for threads on this but I have not been able to find anything....

I anyone can find any links it would be appreciated... :)

i think you mean muffler mod? if so what I did is took muffler off drilled 2 holes side by side below spark screen and put muffler back on. I did not have to do any ajustments (180 only has LA screw). No problems with mod.

I agree, kind of. I mufflr modded my 180C, made quite a bit of difference. Sounds better, cuts faster, more power. This is all I did on mine. No use porting it, not a pro saw.

If you're in the neighborhood I can show you what you need to do. I'm with Brad, put an adjustable carb on it and open up the muffler.

If you're just going with a muffler mod, all you need is a WT325A carb. LINK. It's still a fixed jet carb, but runs a little richer than the stock carb and has worked will with just a muffler mod.

If you're going all out and need a fully adjustable carb, the info's here. LINK. Porting info here. LINK
