Tell me about it!!! I'm an auto mechanic, been turning wrenches professionally for 20 years lol.

Some of the carbs can be pain in the ass to work on especially trying to get the metering lever right

I am talking about the timing hole. You stick a 1/4 pin in there . Cause my super 44 has one. And that's how they time the chainsaw. But I think it's the condenser I am going to put a wima capiciter on it. And regap the points at 18 of an inch.

Looks like one of them ole yellar Mac's in your picture. Them type Mac's not made for the Nancy's and Pansies to operate.;)
I might be a little fond of my yellow saws....

Yeh I downloaded a repair manule. It says to use a timing tool mcculloch 57443A and a timing light.

That tool is a very old NLA tool. Very doubtful you will ever find one.
If a guy could find a pattern it could be easily made using a piece of aluminum.

Your saw will run ok if all else is ok by setting the points as we have previously described
.

Let us know if you do find one of those tools?

You might ask about the tool over in the Mac chainsaw stickie section and see if you get a hit.
