Easy muffler mod on my cs-590....took a dremal and removed the inner diverter plate lack of a better term....painted with stove paint supposed to be good to 1200 degrees... we will see... it was running rich but i did not get a chance to even fire it up much less put it in wood to readjust the carb.....but here are the pics....gravy Mod....

That's all i did to my first one.
Ran great
A guy brought one in that he cut the tube out of the muffler.
It was ungodly loud
Had him buy another and i tuned it.

Before I got all the info that all you had to do was open the deflector I went ahead and opened the interior baffle. No mistaking the sound of this Echo. Big Daddy Don Garlits would be jealous.

This is how my ported 590 is done. That baffle has 3 small holes on each side stock both sides are opened up like in the pick. Its louder then just opening the deflector but not ears bleeding loud like if you cut the whole tube out.

@stubnail67 I decided to play with the 490 deflector today. opened the front up more and flattened the 3 little factory openings to get them out of the path of the exhaust flow. This weather needs to get better or this thing might lose its base gasket next.
