If you poke holes in a maple with your spikes, doesn't the syrup leak out?

No room, where the camera man records from is back of the house and the other trees were non breakables.

During the spring when the sap flow is real heavy, it will drip out like a leaky faucet just about from every gaff mark on the tree.

Looked like a fun tree to take down, but I pity the poor SOB who had to drag all the brush with the wood one it.
