Well today I received the ms261 nwp p&c. It has a hyway symbol stamped in the piston. That being said the cylinder looks great. the piston however looks like it was made in a third world country by children.here are some pictures comparing the NWP kit from Baileys to a OEM ms261 kit.

Here are the pictures.

you mean you actually received that piston with that grinding in there.. grosse! never seen that in any kits i've used. almost looks like someone returned it after doing some dummy mods and then bailey's resold it to you. unless the factory really is that hurt'n. i'd be sending it back. the white box special pistons are nicer then that LOL

flea-bay sells far better pistons than that directly from china for like $6 and free shipping!!

i would send that piston back--- thats a joke-- somebody pulled a boner on you- swapped pistons --and gave you the turkey--

They did all that grinding and didn't bother to knock down the "extra" flashing inside the piston? That looks like Doo doo! Send it back, I'd be curious to know what Baileys response is too this?

I talked to baileys and they said it will work run it. I told them I won't the quality is unacceptable. I have a reputation to keep and will not put junk parts in a saw no mater how cheap they are. They would sell me a oem piston otherwise I would have to return it because every 261 kit was just like mine. I told them just because every other one is like mine that doesn't make it right. It looks like I will be returning the junk NWP kit with no other solution offerd by baileys. I ordered a kit why would I want to or should I have to purchase a piston for extra $$ being that the piston is junk that came in the kit?

I have a couple of Chinese saws with castings that are less than perfect, but I don't think I could use that even though I suspect it would work. That's really ugly.

The original cylinder is unusable.

Sweet mother of Hades, I understand a few casting marks but that's just awful. I've never received a piston THAT bad from some pretty shady suppliers. Stick the junk oem cylinder in the return package and see how they like receiving a piece of ****...

i would just give you a piston but i don't think i have any that small-- but i do have a nice clean new 038 super piston i'm not using

i have seen a few NWPs a few years ago -at that time their cylinders were coming from Taiwan and they looked pretty good.

although i haven't see any of the NWPs in quite a while.

i'm am a bit aback that bailes sent that piston--lol

What's your reputation? Do you fix up saws and sell them on eBay?

I work on local guys saws but I'm more known for dirt bike and snowmobile work.

That piston looks like a thumbless asian kid dressed it with a broken bastard file while somebody whipped him with a bamboo cane and poured vinegar in his eyes. Total dirt.

Fine if it's a junker where nobody has any expectations of it having a half decent service life, but who would want to fit junk like that?
