You mean other than my 064? I like my snowshovel. It's a 1960 Champion road grader, makes a great bulldozer too!

Oh geez you guys were talking about real tools :dizzy:
Well I have a Monarch 10" EE toolmakers lathe, and a Bridgeport model M milling machine with a tiltable plate dividing head .I only use these in emergencies where I can't use bailing wire and duct tape.

Toss up between Vise grips and hack saw, pulled a 350 small block out of an abandoned Chevy Camaro years ago to replace a blown motor in my pickup, 2 pairs of vice grips and a hacksaw all I had on the truck I was using and had the engine out in about an hour.

Computer/Internet

Tough choice between chainsaw and computer.

I agree with Mr. Benson. The internet(though accessed through a computer that's ancient and slow and stuck on dial up) saves me an amazing amount of time. I can only imagine the hours I'd use driving to the library and sorting through thousands of books to find information not near as up to date as what a simple Google search will bring up in half a second. Just the savings in gas more than pay for the extra phone line and the ISP. The way gas prices are going, I may begin ordering groceries online and having them delivered.

i couldnt survive without my set of Wiha T-handles and my craftsman professional carb screwdriver. real vicegrips are up on my list too.. but the T-handles top everything.

My hands, couldn't get much done without them. Ok, tool you use with your hands...welder. I'm a machinist by trade, so I can make all kinds of stuff, but the welder really brings it all together.

how do you keep steam in a bucket? do you hold the bucket upside down? but then how do you pour it on the saw?

Well it always seems to turn in to water, it does not stay steamy very long !

Do a search on "surplus computers". You'd be amazed at how much computer you can get for $150, or less. Think, "retired corporate computers". My kids pooled their money and got an 833 MHz Dell with 256 meg of RAM and a 20 Gig hard drive for $150. Windows 2000 included.

Irresistible...

I agree with fishuntcutwood; the double ended scribe is right up there

It's the warmest October 27 on record here in England today. I'm on a nice relaxing little recking job and I was thinking about this thread ... can somebody tell me exactly what a scribe looks like and where to get one?

Anyway, back to this job ... I've found a new favorite tool: it's a 4 lb club hammer plus an 18 inch cold steel chisel with plastic hand guard. So far, nothing has been able to resist it and I've only lost one finger nail.
:)

I prefer Robertson screws to Phillips any day, but I suppose most of you Americans have never seen one.

I've got to agree with the Leatherman, I work in a casino repairing slot machines, and 99% of the time the only tool I use is my Leatherman Wave multi tool.... Maglite too, you have to be able to see what you are doing... Visegrips, the real visegrips, not cheap knock-offs are very high on the list as well.... If it wasn't for needle nose visegrips, I don't know how I would adjust the heater control knob in my car since I snapped the knob off months ago.....

My leatherman tool is a high level of importance on a day to day basis. knife, wire cutters, pliers, screwdrivers, can openers, everything I need in a small pocket size case.

only other tool that comes even close to it is the 4D maglite I keep in the truck for light, and defence.

Leatherman Wave "new" model, it is on my belt every day and it would be a rare day that they tool is not used AT LEAST 5 times. I have a pair of Carhartt bibs that I hate wearing because they don't have beltloops and thus I can't wear my leatherman with them!

Would that be a #2 or #3 ?

My best tool is a Craftsman 7" robogrip ! :blob5:

Well..............
around here we just refer to colours. Black, red, green, and don't forget yellow!

I have a sharade pocket tool. I always used to carry a leatherman super tool. I gotta tell ya the sharade is a much better quaitlity pair of pocket pliers.

Spyderco Delica...knife. Clip on side, one hand opener, the curve on the back side of the blade when closed will open paint cans, fit my browning choke tubes, open my can of filson wax treatment stuff, open bottles (very caefully), and so much more! oh yeah, it cuts stuff too...I've bought/sold knives all my life, even worked at a sporting goods store and tried several different high dollar brands...always go back to the delica...pretty cool i thought.
