I see you want to keep the saw stock, but I just wanted to follow up on WACutter's suggestion of the DP cover...

If you have the tools (die grinder or dremelish tool), open up the existing outlet. On my 3, one has the DP with enlarged opening (very loud), one has just DP, the other has the enlarged opening. I think I like the enlarged existing opening the best since its the cheapest alternative and doesnt seem to run any lesser than the other with both DP and opened outlet.

Just open it up as much as you can while keeping the opening behind the deflector shield over the hole. Of course, remove the muffler to do this and make sure you clean out all the chips before reinstalling the screen, then just slap the muffler back on. Don't forget to trim the carb limiters and readjust tune.

If this doesn't apply to you, at least I've left my .02 in here for someone else to chew on.
