MS 880 Broken Crank Answers

Yep I got it all torqued down and cleaned up for tonight do more Friday after work

Brad what side clearance should I have on the crank to case on the inside ?

Honestly, I've never measured it. I'd think if you're spinning with no resistance, you're good to go. I see no such specs in the service manual. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Its free and spin good with no binds so I think it will work

Don't forget to put sealant on the OD of the crank seals. I've seen those metal bodied seals leak. The manual actually calls for sealant there, at least on some models.

It would have to be a while. I'm only doing a very few jobs and already accepted a couple. I'm turning down most jobs.

Honestly, I find a stock 88 to be rather disappointing. The respond very well to mods.

Bummer. No known unlimited coil. The 441 coil is a significant improvement though. I don't think anyone has yet tried a 361 coil though.

Thanks for the input Randy. It might be just as well. Throw a 441 coil on there, tune that big dog in the wood, and leave it be.
