Hmmmm, 1/2 stick of good grade dynamite with an electric cap,stand back at least 50',connect ends to battery, instantaneous cylinder expansion....LOL

Seriously though they are about as big as that series comes unless there is a China big bore cylinder kit for them that will produce far less power than the OEM P&C already does.

Switch to a Champion plug.
That will increase H.P. @ 43.8%.....

A muffler mod and re tune the carb is just about the cheapest and most gain mod that can be done to them. Some claim a little port work can improve the power band in them but I can`t feel the difference.

I'm modifying my ms290/390 by putting it up for sale. Building a clone ms361.

I'd do the same but I have to much money into it... Sadly I got an 028wb and it hangs right with it. It's a good saw but for the size it's not impressive.

As said above, These saws desperately need a muffler mod. Never messed with a mild timing advance but worth a shot. Opening up the muffler will give you noticeable gains for sure.
