Name that wood!

I cut a small tree down at the edge of my woods and bucked up some logs. These are extremely heavy and hard as hell to split. Very stringy. I believe it's Siberian Elm. Correct me if I'm wrong, please. I might just wait until they dry out to split them. Here is a pic along with some leaves:

Are those white bands just inside of the bark? It so, I'd say American Elm...

I think I've got it narrowed down to either rock elm or red elm.

the siberian elm I cut has that same dark middle, but the bark is much rougher, like burr oak, but this is definitely elm based on the leaf. I'm pretty sure it's rock or red(which I've never cut.)

Thanks for the replies. It's gonna have to season a bit, as it is tough as nails.

Elm is tough to split. If you dont have splitter may wanna wait till it freezes. I cut a lot of that elm.
