That's a cool slideshow thing I've never seen. I'll have to use that sometime. I can't wait to run that 288.

Here are some pics from today. I'm looking foward to everyone else's pics and videos.
Here's my 288xp with a 36" bar and square chisel chain. I'm running a 8 pin sproket.

Great pics & vids, Chris! Glad to see both you and you're dad in attendance. That 288 looked quite impressive. Figure you'll have a truck load of saws for the next GTG. :hmm3grin2orange:

Nice pics lots of saws, the rest of you guys got Pics?

A huge thanks to the Possums, Mrs. Possum included! We could not have asked for a better day, great food and even better company! If any of the new guys missed this one, you really missed out.:D

I got a butt load of pics and will try to get them up tonight. I need to start cleaning up my already clean, new to me 026, thanks Joe!:yourock: Everyone one of these GTGs has led me to buy at least one more saw per visit.

I say we do another around early March while the weather is still nice.:biggrinbounce2:

LP, Sorry about my daughter walking in front of the video, but she was working hark picking up those cookies. We don't need the Keebler Elfs to make cookies. We just cut their tree down and make our own.

Good to see you and your dad come out. That 288 ran GREAT! Wish I'd brought the 660 now. I'll have it next time.

I enjoyed the GTG today.

smilin possum got the CS-8000 running. Switched the P&C out in no time.

SP, the max RPM's for the saw is 13,000 according to the manual.

It was good to meet everyone there. Looking forward to the next GTG.

Glad ya'll could make it. Told ya someone would have that 8000 running.:D

Well it's over and we're looking forward to the next one. For Sawbid , chopperfreak and all the ones that did'nt make it down you all have a standing invite here any time. We can have a mini here anytime anyone wants to come. I need enough notice to make sure we have logs here. If not we'll do it old school and take old John in the woods and cut us one and drag it to the house and play.

To all the guys that came I had one of the best days of talking and watching some impressive saws run. I would like to THANK all ya'll for coming out. Peter I hope the echo gives you good service and it was my pleasure to rebuild it for you. If you have any trouble with it let me know.

Pops you are a trip we had a blast watching your saws run and talking with you and your Dad. You two running that 3120 was a hoot, they are a little different when the saw tries to run you ain't it. Anytime you guys are down this way drop by anytime. When you get ready to own a Wright let me know.

I'd like to thank 2K and Amy for coming up too. The thing wouldn't have been the same without the GTG Queen, Look forward to seeing ya'lls pics as always.

It was a great day to have it and we all had a little fun and some good tips and tricks were shared. Ya'll come on back whenever you can. Steve Hope the KD helps with your project , bring her on down when you get it going.

Till next time thanks to you all for making a great day for and old Fatboy I had a blast.

PS. I made the neebie mistake of the day. Put the 36" bar on my 084 for pops to run and I put the chain on backwards and LP saw it and told everybody for I got to change it. SO IT HAPPENS OK.

Hey me again. Next time we will get some better logs that ain't so hard. But this is what real saws around here have to cut HAHAHA!. SO if you can cut these things we had this time you can cut anything.

Thanks Again folks we have a great day!!

that sure is nice of you SP, thank you. i wanted to try and make this one, but truth be told, i didn't even check this thread till a couple days ago. it's about a 9 1/2 hour drive for me and that kinda scared me off. i'll either make it down with Sawbid or make for the spring GTG for sure!

SP That 084 was a BEAST. Actually that is gonna be my next build hopefully. Just gotta find one for a good price that is burnt up or something. I figure do a port job like the 288 had. Before I got the 288, I was looking for a 100cc+ newer model saw. The 084, 088, and 3120 was on the list. There just soooo dang expensive.

Hopefully 67 mustang and some of the others can get there pics and vids up. My pics and vid was took at the end of the day. There wasn't much sawing going on.

PS: SP I'm actually glad the wood was hard. It really gave the saws a workout. I don't get to cut wood that big and hard very often. Most of mine is half greed cull logs and pine.

I think I remember someone leaving a clip out of a saw when they were putting in a P&C. Glad we caught it before we fired it up.

Since I am not good with remembering names, please post who you were at the GTG.

Who had the rebuilt ported 288 ?

Who had the Stihl w/ the pipe exhaust? I wanted to run it but I was scared

Who had all the nice clean saws under the covered shelter?

Who was holding the handle on the 2 man that got oil all over his jeans?

LP, SP ....ya'll were easy to remember :)

Being the new guy was a little intimidating at first since my chainsaw knowledge is very limited. Everyone was very nice and very friendly. Made me and my daughter feel like we were amongst old friends.

PS, Who had the 2 little girls? Amazing how they "accidentally " got wet and muddy. LOL When i was little my brother and I accidentally fell into the ocean...from the shore.

We were glad that you and Savannah could make it! I had the saws that were sitting under the shelter behind the white truck. I understand about the first GTG. It is a bit intimidating. The first one I went to I think we stood around and talked for two hours before the first chainsaw was fired up. I kept wondering if we came to run saws or what. There really are no rules and the crowd who shows up at this one is laid back. We generally share our saws. Whoever wants to run one of the saws is usually welcome to do so with very few exceptions. One example might be that someone may not want their $300 race chain cutting dirty wood. That's one of the reasons for the cants. Besides being equal diameter to be fair when comparing saw times they have had the bark & dirt slabbed away. Maybe the next one you'll feel comfortable enough to just crank one of your saws and get the ball rolling. Glad you came and welcome to the site. Hope to see you again!

Steve
