Have you considered having a masonry alcove built and setting a large woodstove in it?
Yes, I have. I spoke to a dealer in Sagle that installs a variety of brands & he basically understood what I wanted.
I also have been emailing Jason at Kuma, who was very helpful as well. I want to raise the stove about 2-3 feet off the ground
so that loading is easier. When we were in Sagle last a guy was in the process of building his home & he did just that. He must have had the stove about 4 feet off the ground, with the ceiling height approx 20 feet.

We'll see what the architect comes up with
