New MS261 c-m thoughts?

My son has an MS261C with the M-tronic stuff. No manual carb adjustments, it adjusts its own mixture (and timing) and remembers the settings each time you fire it up. Nice saw, seems very powerful for the size and weight. BUT.

It's been having idling issues. I got some tech bulletins via the Beg for Manuals thread and it sounds like the problem could be caused by either a leaky solenoid valve OR "unit operation outside of "normal" may push the fuel flow settings beyond running limits"

Examples given are "Thinning -- high RPM with no load" and "Starting & stopping -- makes a few cuts and stops engine repeatedly"

The fix for the second one is easy -- reset the computer chip. All you need is a $500 dealer-only diagnostic tool.
